Carel Struycken; born July 30, 1948) is a Dutch film, television, and stage actor. He is best known for playing the Giant in Twin Peaks, Mr. Homn in Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Lurch in the films The Addams Family, Addams Family Values, and Addams Family Reunion. Because he is 2.13 m (7 ft 0 in) tall, he often plays character and comedic roles in which height is a major part.

 

 

 

 

1: 50 Years Star Trek, whats your first thought when you hear this?

 

Seems like yesterday :-) I first came across the original ST after I had moved to the US in '75. ST was in rerun then and I was spellbound from the start. It was so chock full of ideas about how society could be and how humans could interact and there was nothing else like it on TV. STNG was even better at blending thought provoking  moral concepts in with great story telling.

2: Your personal Highlight in your role in Star Trek?

 

There was no single highlight. It was just something I looked forward to every year and always wonderful to see Majel and the rest of the cast again. It was very disappointing that I did not get to do the last two seasons. 

3: Will you come back , maybe to Star Trek Discovery, when you get the chance?

Yes, I would love to do something in ST Discovery. But actors have no influence in those decisions. Maybe the fans do...
