- How did you get your role in the AMC Series The Walking Dead as a Savior?
I answered a casting call that I saw online. It did not say what it was for but it looked legitimate so I answered it and it turned out to be them.
- Lee, did you watch the show or read the graphic novel, prior to
your casting to The Walking Dead?
I never read the comics or anything but I did watch the program since day one.
- When you watched TWD the first time do you ever think that you will be a part in this series some day?
I always wanted to be on the show, but never actually thought I would. The way this worked out is incredible and I was in shock when I actually got chosen to be on the show.
- Working with Andrew Lincoln or one of the Maincast Members will be
a dream for every
TWD Fan, what can you say about working with some of this guys?
Working with everyone on set was outstanding. It was a great experience all the way around. I actually got to do a scene with Ross Marquand who plays Aaron. He was really great to work with. Also the very first time I was seen on camera was with Steven Ogg in the season 6 premiere. He's a cool guy and was great to work with as well. I also formally met Greg Nicotero that morning. He was a super cool guy and just walked up and introduced himself. Great working with such an awesome director.
- How much has the series The Walking Dead influenced your life? Can you
go outside unrecognized ?
I consider this to be the highlight of my career even though I was an extra. It's the number one television show in the world. It's had a great influence on my life altogether. In the local area where I grew up everybody recognizes me from the show. But they're all cool about it because I grew up here and everybody knows me anyway.
- Team Negan or Team Rick in reallife?
Team Negan!
- What was the best thing or the funniest moment about working on The
Walking Dead?Is there something special you can share with us?
I think the best moment on the show was me getting to use my own motorcycle for the season 8 premiere which was episode 100. I've always wanted to use my motorcycle for something like that and go figure, it was for The Walking Dead.
- Lee you not only an Actor, you also writer, producer, stunt coordinator, director..... What are you
doing outside from TWD?
I've done many things in the film industry over the past 13 years. At the moment I'm working on my next feature film titled The Beast of LBL. (Land Between the Lakes) This is a story about a dog man like creature that has been in the LBL area for many years. It's not as popular as Sasquatch, the Loch Ness monster, or the yeti, but it's about to be. We even started an LLC and we'll have a line of clothing and other merchandise in the near future. We already have promotional posters available along with t-shirts coming up soon and some hats.
- Are you currently working on anything interesting Movie or Series
outside "The Walking Dead" that you can reveal?
I'd say The Beast of LBL project that I'm working on is my main focus at the moment. I'm also building a haunted house with a friend of mine for the upcoming Halloween season. He brought me in as a partner last year for a haunt that has been there for 12 years. This will be our 13th year and we tore everything down so we could start a new. It will be bigger and better. In between that I accept roles in other projects that other people have. I'm also making appearances throughout the year in different locations.
- Is there anything else you would like to let The Walking Dead Fans and
your fans know?
Watch out for walkers. LOL. Keep up with our Beast of LBL project by checking out our Facebook page. I also have an actor page on Facebook if anyone would like to follow that as well. Thank you everyone for your support it means a lot to me.
Thank you very much for your time and all the best for the future and
maybe see you someday back in Germany
My pleasure. Thank you for the interview. I've always wanted to visit Germany since in fact I am 25% German myself. Would love to do an appearance there and meet everyone someday.
