Interview with Stacey Crowder - A Savior is in the House
Stacey Crowder is an actor, known for The Melting Pot and Dark Wasteland (2017). But more people lnown him for his work in "The Walking Dead" as one of Negan´s Saviors. -
Thank you Lee for your spontaneous commitment for the Fans of The-Entertainment-junkie.de - Stacey ,
How did you get your role in the AMC Series The Walking Dead as a Savior?
I originally answered a nondescript ad for “tough and intimidating” men. I had no idea the casting call was for The Walking Dead.
Did you watch the show or read the graphic novel, prior to your casting to The Walking Dead?
I didn't. I was aware of the huge following the show and comic had from it's fan-base. However, as soon as I realized(or actually was told) I had been cast in the show, I began watching and reading the graphic novel. I began be reading issue 100 of the graphic novel and began watching season 6 so I would have some background as to where our group came from and their mission.
- Working with Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) , Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) or one of the Maincast Members will be a dream for every TWD Fan, what can you say about working with some of this guys?
My initial first couple of weeks were pretty tense (to say the least). Episodes 0616 and 0701 were very stressful on the actors involved in the death scenes. But, even then there were some light hearted moments during that filming. At one point I got Abrahams blood all over me when a blood bag didn't pop quite right and I assisted Dwight in loading up Daryl. Neither which made it to screen. But, 0704 was great fun. Andy and JDM were great on set and treated me as an equal and not just some guy. Going into season 8 I got to know Jared(Josh Mikel), Gregory(Xander Berkley), and Alden (Callen McAuliffe) quite well. Xander even snapped a selfie the night I was killed off in 0813.
How much has the series The Walking Dead influenced your life? Can you go outside unrecognized ?
The Walking Dead has really opened some doors for me, no doubt. But, I'm not recognized that much from the show. Most people who find out I've been on the show are stunned when I tell them I'm the dude that came up the steps with the RPG. I'm recognized more from an appearance on “Atlanta” more than TWD.
- On Facebook i see a photo of the Death of your Savior part and a fan post: "you have PURE TERROR on your face!! As would I! Real or not! " whats means this to you as actor when fans like your job and how you bring it?
Honestly, I just try to do my job. If fans enjoy my performance and truly buy into what's happening, that's the best!
- After your time on TV you still on the road with other Saviors from Convention to Convention. Is it a good feeling when fans still wanna see the Saviors after the End of Team Negan?
It really is! It amazes me how much people love the Saviors! I'm sure JDM has a lot to do with that!
- Are you currently working on anything interesting Movie or Series outside "The Walking Dead" that you can reveal? I have done some more speaking roles. Nothing that I can reveal at this time. 2018 was a little slow for me but 2019 seems to be poised for something really cool.
