Bernd Lorenz:

Thank you Barry for your time for this Interview, i hope you feel ok today?

Barry Duffield:

"I'm good thanks. We had a great time in Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore. Now I'm hard at work until Spartacon, Maryland, USA on the 15 & 16th of August 2015. That's going to be a blast"

Bernd Lorenz:

-Spartacus is one of my all time favourite show´s, and Lugo is certainly one of it's interesting characters. How did you get the role of Lugo?

Barry Duffield:

"I auditioned for the role and Steven S DeKnight liked my look and performance"

Bernd :

-What did you do, physically and mentally, to prepare for the fightscenes and did you ever get hurt?

Barry:

"We all committed to every scene. It's the only way you can do it. Some were more challenging than others. Yes, I did get hurt, but almost everybody did"

Bernd:

-What are some of your favourite memories or behind the scenes stories from your time on the show?

Barry:

"Dustin was the real practical joker on the show. He painted crosses on my back with fake blood-covered swords. I looked like the poster child for the Red Cross. Meeting and working with the other actors and crew was a daily blessing"

Bernd:

-For your role of Lugo you have to speak some german, did you ever know some words from this time?

Barry:

"Not a single word, but I don't think I'll ever forget them now"

Bernd:

-Of the whole series, looking back, which was the most difficult scene to film?

Barry:

"Definitely the orgy scene in the Roman bath. Try explaining that work day to your wife"

Bernd:

-How was filming the final episode and your end inside?

Barry:

"I was both elated and saddened when I read the final script; sad because it was all ending and elated because they gave Lugo such a glorious, fiery, death"

Bernd:

-When Spartacus ends many fans cheers for Spin Off´s, what do you think about an Spin Off Series about Lugo before he comes to Spartacus?

Barry:

"I would love to see a Lugo spinoff. Spread the word"

Bernd:

-Before you work in Spartacus you work for many other Series like Xena,Hercules or Shortland Street.what else can we expect from you in the near future?

Barry:

"I'm booked for a film with Ving Rhames and Luke Goss called Blood Reef. I'm playing a real bad-ass called Slayde. I'm in negotiations to do a film in Europe, but I won't jinx it until the ink is drying on the contract. I'm also a professional screenwriter with several projects in development and two five star rated graphic novels currently on Amazon and Comixology"
