Interview with Kikyo Nakamura
Bernd: Thank you for your time for this interview and I hope you are healthy?
Kikyo: As healthy as I can be. Nursing an ankle injury at the moment but I'll be good as new soon enough.
Bernd: How did you get into the wrestling business?
Kikyo: I grew up watching wrestling because my grandparents and parents watched it. When I turned 19, I thought to myself that I always talked about it so why am I sitting on my ass at home? I found a school and the rest is history.
Bernd: What does your family think of your passion for the sport, are they worried about your health?
Kikyo: Both of my parents fully support my wrestling career. My mother is the one who mostly worries about my health especially after sending her pictures of my death match afterwards.
Bernd: Who trained you and how long did it take, that it was clear for you to do the first match?
Kikyo: My training wasn't as conventional as most people. I was trained by Mike Rayne, Bobby Hart, Big Ugly JD Bishop, Cjay Kurz and Virgil Flynn. I definitely wasn't ready for my first match but once I got retrained it took about a year all together to have my official debut.
Bernd: Do you remember your first pro wrestling match and what was it like to wrestle in front of a live crowd for the first time?
Kikyo: My official debut in 2010 is what I consider my first match and I remember it well. I had broken my left foot the day prior and I was super nervous about how it was going to go. I honestly don't even remember the crowd being there because I was completely in my head trying to remember everything.
Bernd: Which wrestlers did impress you so much, that you wanted to step in the ring by yourself?
kikyo: I believe you're asking which wrestlers I would want to step in the ring with and I have such a huge list. I most definitely want to work with LuFisto, MsChif one on one, and Mickie Knuckles.
Bernd: When i see your photos here you look absolut a little bit like Bull Nakano, one of the best female worker in the 90´s. Do you look up to her?
Kikyo: Yes I do look up to Bull Nakano as well as Luna Vachon and Reggie Bennett. Having those kinds of role models to look up to has help me mold my character into what it is today.
Bernd: What is your favourite match or opponent from your career and why?
Kikyo: My favorite match from my career has to be my death match that I had with Sage Sin Supreme at UEW in Los Angeles. Everything just felt so amazing and the crowd reaction to everything that we did was insane. She's one of my best friends and to be able to share our first major death match together, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else.
Bernd: Road stories, do you have a short road story for us?
Kikyo: A few of my friends and I were heading home from Vegas after a show and it was super hot out and the car's A/C was just not cutting it. So Derek was in the back pouring water over his head the whole time trying to keep himself cool. It was ridiculous because the whole back seat was getting wet and Derek was like fuck this it's hot I don't care.
Bernd: Which country you would love to visit next and wrestle?
Kikyo:I would love to visit and wrestle in Canada, Mexico and Japan. Those are definitely goals of mine for sure.
Bernd: And what is your aim in Wrestling?
Kikyo: I want to pay my bills with my wrestling. I want to be able to look around aft the spot I'm in and say I got there because I was just that damn good
Bernd: When a booker or company will book you where can they contact you?
Kikyo: Bookers can contact me on Facebook through Kikyo Nakamura or email me at bookfallenflower@gmail.com
Bernd: At the last do you have any words for our readers?
Kikyo: If you're wanting to keep up to date on where I'm at and what I'm doing you can search me and follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as well as follow me on YouTube for current matches and promos.
Bernd: Thank you very much for your time and all the best for the future!
Kikyo: Thank you for having me
