-Thank you for your time Shax for this interview and i hope you are healthy?

No problem, I am very well thank you. Never Better.

-How did you get into the Wrestling business and When did you decide you wanted to be a pro wrestler?

It was all very sudden really, hit me about 2 years ago that actually I quite liked the sounds of fighting people and not getting into trouble for it! The thought of kicking someone in the face and being applauded was all too good to be true, so my best friend and I searched for the nearest place to train and went for it. I’ve never looked back.

Shax The Interview

-What is your family thinking of your passion for the sport, are they worried about your health?

To begin with there were general concerns, but now they’re all cheering me on to beat up more people and win every match I’m in. They are still worried I’ll get hurt but now I think they can trust a little more that when it comes to being in that ring I know what I’m doing.

I’ll never forget my mum’s first “threat” to me. “If anyone hurts you, I’ll be getting in that ring myself!” I’m still disappointed that this hasn’t happened yet.

-Your Ringside Name Shax,is there a story behind?

I like to think there’s quite a demonic sort of element in myself in the ring, and Shax is the name of a female demon (actually the name of a few across different stories). It was a short catchy name, and it stuck actually really well.

-What can you say about your Coach and how long did it take, that it was clear for you to do the first match?

My original coaches were very supportive, being the only girl in that training school I’d say a lot of the fellow trainee’s started off going easy on me, not really wanting to hit me with anything. Until I started hitting them, I think that soon changed their minds. I was quite demanding at first actually, my coaches never wanted to put me in a one on one match as they weren’t sure who to put me up against and if I’m honest this angered me. I was far too eager to get in and show what I could do, but in a way I’m also grateful that I wasn’t put in a match before I was ready. I was put in my first match after about 6/7 months.

Shax do you remember your first Pro Wrestling match and what was it like to wrestle in front of a live crowd for the first time?

I do remember it, just. It’s all a bit blurry now so much has happened since. But I remember the feeling I got before I went out... Butterflies is putting it lightly! I still get butterflies now, but that first experience was by far the most nerve racking thing I’d ever done. But also the best.

-Which wrestlers did impress you so much, that you wanted to step in the ring by yourself?

I was quite a big fan of the women of TNA as far as professional wrestlers’ go, and a couple of the men from WWE but there wasn’t really a particular wrestler that made me want to start wrestling. More just the concept in general.

- Where would you like to be in your career five years from now?

5 years from now I’d love to be travelling the world, wrestling in as many different countries as I can and picking up different fight styles from different cultures. I don’t just mean wrestling fight styles but all of them. Knowing different techniques of combat is always a great help in the ring.

-I saw on a photo you wrestle also male, maybe Caleb Crow, how is it wrestle guys like him?

To be honest, the only difference is (in most cases anyway) they don’t have hair to pull. I will wrestle anyone who’s put up against me. I’ve actually found it’s often the girls that are the nastier opponent. We claw, slap, bite, scream and literally try to kill each other to win. To be more specific on your example of Caleb Crow, wrestling him is to put it honestly – Lovely. We both go in there and have a good, genuine wrestling match. He’s actually one of my favourite opponents.

-What's the most iconic moment you witnessed during your time inside the ring?

For me it’s when people began to chant and shout my name during a match. Having a crowd recognise you and want you to win that fight is a feeling like no other.

-Which country you would love to visit next and wrestle?

The two main ones I’d love to go to are Australia and America, but I feel it may be some time before I get there. I’d really enjoy to go to France or Italy next.

-When a booker or company will book you where can they contact you?

I try to encourage everyone to contact me through my Shax Facebook page when regarding wrestling. It’s just so much easier to manage.

-Is there anything else you would like to let my readers know?

Only to keep your eyes peeled for Shax, she’s on the up and from here on is only growing stronger.
