Christopher Muncke played Captain Khurgee, the scanning crew leader and pilot, in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

Thank you Chris for your time for this Interview and the fans.

-Chris you played in one of the biggest SiFi movies of all time,Star Wars, Can you tell how you got cast for Star Wars: A new Hope? And how did you get your part assigned?

By 1976, I was a young, North American jobbing actor in London. The was a group of us - Canadians and Americans - about 25 or so - and as the UK was giving huge tax breaks to US film companies to come over and use our studios, tecnicians, etc. we were in the right olace at the right time. If you dig out American films made in the UK in the 70's and 80's, you'll see many of the same faces - Bill Hootkins, Rick Le Parmentier, John Chapman, Garrick Hagon - loads of us. I got a call from my agent about a film Irene Lamb was casing and went along to the casting session in Soho Square at 20th Century Fox, met George, had a chat and got a job. Just like any other job at the time. I had a costume fitting and was picked up by a unit driver on the day, learned my lines, chatted with George, David P and Kenny and some of the techies I had worked with before. Dave and I ran lines, rehearsed the scene with George, sat around while the Lighting was set and the extras were rehearsed and then we got to work and shot the scene. I can't remember how many set-ups we had but I know we had 1 Huge wide shot of the extras and Vader mardhing in and me coming out of the Falcon and then a bunch of close ups of me and Vader and some OV shots but we were finished by lunch. I had a bite in the commissary and got my driver and went home. Another job done and £100 in the old oak chest...

-Star Wars is still a phenomenon, Did you watch many years later the start of the new prequel Movies?

Of course I watched the prequels and compared them with th eOT VHS tapes I had. I still liked the OT best though...
-After all this years actors like you will booked for Conventions all over the world, do you have contact to other Main actors of this movies?

So many of us have passed on now but yes I have renewed friendships with many of the group that were working then. It's always a treat to meet up at events and chat about the 'old days'!

-When you had the choice for a day with one of all the actors of all 6 movies which one will be your favorite?

Too hard to single anyone out but Rick Le Parmentier, Jeremy Bulloch, Alan Flyng, good old Garrick, dear sweet Hootkins - wonderful professionals and lovely friends.

-Chris you not only worked in Star Wars you also played in James Bond ,Oppenheimer, D.A.R.Y.L. and many many other projects. What was your favorite role so far and why?

I'm really sorry, but I have no single answer to that. Working in the UK then was such a blessing because I was able to work with major Film Stars on big Feature Films as well as the highest quality dramatic television in the world, the ONLY Radio Drama with the BBC and classic and avant garde plays and musicals in the West End. It was a young actors heaven!
-One last Question,Star Wars VII and J.J. Abrams coming soon, what do you think about and will you watch the next generation of Jedi Knights?

I have just seen the new film and was knocked out by it. I oved every minute!

-Thank you Chris and when you would you can say some last words to your fans.

I wish all of our wonderful Star Wars Fan Family, all over the world a happy, bountiful, and peaceful new year and of course - MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
