- Let me thank you for doing this interview for the "Pro Wrestling Interview Series Tour 2021".
Maze: Thank you for the invitation!
- When and how did you get into Pro wrestling?
Maze: My big brother used to watch WWE with his friends. At some point I started joining them and I loved it. I never really stopped watching after that. I realized pretty quickly that that is something what I want to do myself. It took me a couple of years to get the courage to actually go to my first trainings session.
- Do you have any previous experience with martial arts from before you became a wrestler or other sports you did?
Maze: Yes I do. Because I didn't have the confidence to go to a wrestling Trainings school for quite some time I started kickboxing. I thought it would help me in wrestling when I'm ready and it has elements of it so that was the best way to go for me at that point.
- Can you still recall your first training sessions?
Maze: Oh, absolutely yes! It actually was one day before my birthday. Goes without saying that I spent my birthday without moving around to much It was great actually but also really intimidating at the same time. I never was really confident in myself and what I can do so going there was a really big deal for me. So I get there and open the to that big ware house kinda hall.
From outside I already hear super loud noises which sounded like a car is running into a wall over and over again. First thing I see is Alex Wright standing outside of the ring yelling instructions to the guys inside doing drills. I fell in love and knew this ist exactly what I want to do right then and there. The training itself was by far the hardest thing I've ever done.. Despite the years of kickboxing. But I loved every second of it.
- How do you remember your first match, what was the feedback and what experience did you take from it?
Maze: I made my debut in a battle royal. To say I was nervous would be a understatement! I was super scared because I wanted to make a good first impression and deliver. My first singles match was in England for WAW. It was a show with over 500 people in the audience and of course the Knight family in the back. Again I was unbelievably nervous. But everything went well (for a first match), I learned a lot and I had so much fun.
- Do you have a ‚dream opponent‘ you want to fight above all others?
Maze: The list is long! There are so many amazing wrestler out there from whom I could learn so much. Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss would be two dream matches for me. I'd also love to have a fight against Saraya Knight. But there are so many. I also wrestle in intergender matches so there are also many male wrestlers that I hope to meet in the ring someday.
- Do you have/ had any Wrestling idols Or Childhoodheroes?
Maze: Shawn Michaels. For me there is nobody better. Doesn't matter if it is the in ring stuff or the talking on the mic. When it comes to communicating emotions (and for me that is the best and most important part in wrestling) I always go back to watching Shawn Michaels. Of course there are numerous wrestlers, male and female, I study and who inspire and motivate me. Following are a few of them: Hektor Saraya Knight Beth Phoenix Kylie O'Reilly Meiko Satomura Triple H Edge Christian And so many more
- What are you doing when you not stand inside the ring?
Just trying to get better. I go to the gym, go to kickboxing and other martial arts classes, thinking about how I could be better in and outside of the ring.
- When a booker or company from your Country or around the world will book you , where can they contact you?
I can be contacted through all my social media accounts and also for bookings via email stephaniemaze@web.de
