- Let me thank you for doing this interview for the "Pro Wrestling Interview Series Tour 2021".
Thank you for having me!
- When and how did you get into Pro wrestling?
Back in 2007 my dad bought a digibox. Basically it was so that we could watch more channels on TV, and there was this 3 month offer to watch some paid channels as well. And on one of these channels they showed RAW and Smackdown very late in the night. Thankfully, the digibox had a recording function! From there my wrestling journey started. And ever since October of -07 I've been watching, and nowadays be part of the fine art of wrestling myself!
- Do you have any previous experience with martial arts from before you became a wrestler or other sports you did?
I did train jiu jitsu when I was a teenager, but it lasted only for 1,5 years. Occasionally I would play soccer or floorball.
- Can you still recall your first training sessions?
I can! It was terrifying for me the first couple of sessions. It was a combination of awe, fright and pain since I was being trained by the people that I had been watching for a couple of years now and of course I didn't want to let them down by making a fool out of myself in the ring. Taking bumps was the worst. It just hurt like hell and it took me a good while to get used to doing them properly without hurting myself.
- How do you remember your first match, what was the feedback and what experience did you take from it?
I remember not being nervous at all during the day, but then 30 seconds before going through the curtain, my pulse skyrocketed to the moon! It was a tag-team match with team Smooth & Stoned which consisted of Prinssi Make (Make Smooth at the time) and Jami Aalto against Polar Pekko and I. My nose did get busted open, but accidents happen!
The match itself went really well! The feedback that we got was really good as well. I remember the match was very well constructed and had a good pace to it and it was a good match for us newcomers to have. Perhaps the most valuable experience I got from this match is that you can construct a pretty simple story and not put too much stuff in it and yet the match can look like a million bucks. Less is more. Not to mention the feeling of wrestling in front of a live crowd and how much that adds pressure to a match.
- Do you have a ‚dream opponent‘ you want to fight above all others?
Gosh, this is a hard question because there are so many talented wrestlers I would like to face! If I had to name someone though, it would be Edge, Sasha Banks and Kenny Omega. They all have that something special about them.
- I saw photo with an championshipbelt, which one was it?
I am current reigning Nordic Champion. I beat Stark Adder, who was the champion at the time and Toni Tamminen in a three-way match on September 5th 2020 to win my first championship.
- Do you have/ had any Wrestling idols Or Childhoodheroes?
Edge has always been my idol in wrestling. He was never really a hero when I watched wrestling, because he was mostly a heel during the time, but I liked how twisted and clever he was still as a bad guy. He's also the guy who has made me emotional more times than any other wrestler. Firstly when he retired, and secondly when he returned.
- What are you doing when you not stand inside the ring?
I am part of the board of directors of Pro Wrestling Ry which is the organization that runs FCF Wrestling. I am also the head of event organization, where we with my team organize events so that we can wrestle and have shows.
Other than wrestling related stuff: streaming, spending time with my friends and family, jogging, playing board- and video games, and working full time as an IT Specialist.
- When a booker or company from your Country or around the world will book you , where can they contact you?
You can DM me to my Instagram or Facebook @santhewrestler or send me an email to santhewrestler@gmail.com
- Thank you very much for your time- I wish you much success at your next event´s .Thank you for your time! Stay well! Stay safe! And do you have some words for your fans at the end?
Thank you so much for letting me write this interview! This has been very exciting. :)
Hopefully we can start having shows for FCF Wrestling again in front of live audiences soon! This whole pandemic situation has really messed up the wrestling world. If you are interested in wrestling in the Nordics and especially Finland, definitely check out FCF Wrestling!
