-Thank you for your spontaneous commitment. Can you introduce yourself please?
I'm Alexis Lee from Singapore Pro Wrestling, also known as the Lion City Hit Girl.
-How did you get into the Wrestling business ?
Back in high school, I was going through a tough period. That was when I first time I started watching wrestling. Over time, I started to appreciate and enjoy the sport more and more. To the point that I wanted to travel abroad to continue my studies and pick up pro wrestling. I found out from a friend about SPW when they held their first unofficial show. Went for the show, talked to Andruew about how I could join, and things just happened since then.
-What is your family thinking of your passion for the sport, are they worried about your health?
In the beginning, I hid the fact that I was doing pro wrestling from my family. They were against the sport, and still is. But the majority of my extended family knows abou my participation in the sport and are always worried for my health.
- What can you say about your Coach and how long did it take, that it was clear for you to do the first match?
My coaches has been the most patient working with me, correcting and perfecting my basics, giving me pointers on what I can improve on my matches. I was fortunate that I got chosen to wrestle for my promotion (SPW) in their first event, Breakthrough 2013. It was only 8 months since I started training.
- Can you still remember your very first Pro Wrestling match and what was it like to wrestle in front of an live crowd for the first time?
My first wrestling match was one hell of an adrenaline rush. The wrestlers worked hard for the 2 months before the event, getting prepared for it. Since it was the first match for all of us on the card, we had no idea what go expect. I was pacing back and forth behind the curtains, a thousand things going through my head, I was feeling all kinds of nervousness. I still am feeling all kinds of nervousness... The fans at the show gave their absolute, being very very vocal throughout the 2 hours of the show. The whole feeling of having a match and having 200+ people cheering me on was surreal.
- You work for the MYPW Malaysia Pro Wrestling, what can you tell us about this Company?
I actually work for Singapore Pro Wrestling, SPW. The company was the brainchild of both the trainers, Andruew and Vadim, it was established in 2012. Shows are held 3-4 times a year. And the company has had wrestlers from Russia, Japan, Thailand, America and recently, Malaysia. Notable wrestlers who have wrestled for SPW's events are Cima, Sonjay Dutt, Johnny Gargano, Zema Ion, Emi Sakura, Riho, Savannah Summers, Ho Ho Lun, Matt Cross, and Masa Tanahashi.
- Pro Wrestling has many legends, do you have any idols?
The wrestlers I looked up to when I fell in love with the sports were Mickie James, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, Edge and the Hardy Boyz. Through the time, as I learnt more about the sport and interacted with more wrestlers, I have grown to respect many of the wrestlers, such as Hiroyo Matsumoto, Savannah Summers, Emi Sakura, Zema Ion, Ricardo Rodriguez and many others.
- And where did you see yourself in 5 years from now?
In 5 years, hmm, I'd like to hope I still am able to continue wrestling around the world, and also assist in growing the pro wrestling scene in SE Asia.
- What goals do you still have, would a major contract be interesting for you or do you feel well in the Indy area?
I guess a major contract would elevate the wrestling scene in Asia, connecting fans from the other side of earth to the promotions around Asia. But for now, getting more opportunities to work in the Indies to learn and improve myself. I think that's what would suite me more currently.
- Every wrestler tries to gain international experience, to travel to many countries. Which country you would love to visit next and wrestle? And do you had the time to make some sightseeing in other Countrys?
I love travelling, so being in the business and getting to travel at the same time, it's like the ultimate dream. I would love to have the opportunity to wrestle around the world, especially America and Japan (also because I miss the countries). I try to set aside time to go sightseeing in the countries I'm visiting, however, I haven't had the chance to travel abroad for matches... 😅
When a booker or company will book you where can they contact you?
For booking enquiries, they can contact me via my facebook page or through SPW's page.
-Is there anything else you would like to let my readers and your fans know?
Thanks for the interview!!!
Thank you very much for your time and all the best for the future!
