-How did you get into the Wrestling business and When did you decide you wanted to be a pro wrestler?

I have always been a fan of wrestling. My father and his friends would watch and the kids would gather around the TV with them. He is a big fan of Ric Flair and the Undertaker and I definitely got my love from him. I had entertained the thought of training to wrestle while in high school, but decided to graduate first. After finishing University, I decided that I had to take a shot before it was too late. I moved to Ontario and enrolled at Scott D'Amore's CanAm Wrestling School in spring 2007 and started my new life.

-What is your family thinking of your passion for the sport, are they worried about your health?

My father is my biggest fan. I bring him home a DVD of matches every year for Christmas. He loves it! My mother is a bit more reserved but she fully supports me as well. I played rugby for 8 years before I started wrestling so they are used to me playing high-contact sports and risking injury...

-What can you say about your Coach and how long did it take, that it was clear for you to do the first match?

I started training May 2007 and was given my first match January 2008. Scott D'Amore has an amazing mind for wrestling, and he, along with Dux and Devine, taught me all the fundamentals I needed to be able to learn and grow in my matches. There is a lot that only experience will bring you, but if you don't have a solid foundation instilled in you from the start, what is there to build on?

-Courtney do you remember your first Pro Wrestling match and what was it like to wrestle in front of an live crowd for the first time?

I don't think anyone can forget their first match. It is the most terrifying feeling in the world standing behind the curtain, waiting for your music to hit, feeling your insides twist and tighten at the thought of being out there in front of everyone, exposed and being judged! I took 7 years of theatre throughout school but it is a different stage alltogether. But when you are out there...the adrenaline takes over. There is nothing like it. I remember coming back through the curtain after the match and riding such a high. It's addictive!

-Which wrestlers did impress you so much, that you wanted to step in the ring by yourself?

My tastes change over the years and depending on what mood I am in, but growing up I was a fan of Owen Hart over all.. also Eddie Guererro, Chris Jericho, Undertaker, DX, Bret Hart, Trish Stratus, Chyna, Raven, The Rock.. to name a few. As you can see there are several varying styles in that list.

-You hold many single Title´s and you also former SHIMMER Tag Team Champion. Which Belt do you want next?

I've really been taking full advantage of opportunities given lately and when I receive a title shot, I put everything I've got into that match. Obviously, on the Indy scene, there is no greater prize than the SHIMMER World Championship, currently held by Nicole Matthews. Now, Matthews is someone with whom I have a LOT of history, and I think it could generate some buzz to pit the SHIMMER champ against the Femmes Fatales champ, don't you?

- Where would you like to be in your career five years from now?

As long as I am still healthy and have a passion for the sport, I will be wrestling.

-One of the biggest questions I get on this site is about becoming a pro wrestler. What advice would you give to someone that was thinking about becoming a wrestler?

RESEARCH! There are wrestling "schoosl" all over the place, but do your research and find a reputable one! I moved provinces from Manitoba to Ontario and left my entire family and life behind to attend a school with a good reputation with trainers who would give me the best training possible. If you are dedicated to this dream, prove it. Dedicate your life to it. Don't just choose the most convenient school that still allows you to life in mommy and daddy's basement. You are going to be on the road a LOT when you wrestle, and the lifestyle does not go easy on you. Get tough, get independent, and attack it head-on (and prepare to work a lot of minimum wage, dead-end jobs just so you can get the time off for class/weekend shows).

-What's the most iconic moment you witnessed during your time inside the ring?

Well, Nicole Matthews threw a fireball at Madison Eagles' face to win the SHIMMER title last tapings...that pretty much blows everything else I've seen out of the water.

-Which country you would love to visit next and wrestle?

I would love to return to England.. British wrestling fans are awesoem. And I DID get screwed out of my Bellatrix World Title and haven't had the chance to return the favour to Liberty and Saraya! I would also like to wrestle other places around Europe as well. Maybe Germany or France.

-When a booker or company will book you where can they contact you?

My email is courtney_rush_wrestling@hotmail.com but I tend to check Facebook more often, my page is www.facebook.com/BlackwaterRush. If you want to see girls get thrown around the ring, book me! It's my favourite thing to do!
