-Thank you for your time Harley Rage for this interview and i hope you are healthy?

A: Thank you! I’m well, I blew my knee out a couple of years ago so that’s something that comes and goes but it’s fine at the moment!

-How did you get into the Wrestling business?

A: I’ve pretty much always been interested and watched wrestling off and on as a kid and one day I read an article in a magazine about SWS and their product. So I checked their web page out and sent them an e-mail on how to become a wrestler. They called me in for a try-out about six months later and called me back the same week and said they wanted me to come train. The rest is history

-What is your family thinking of your passion for the sport, are they worried about your health?

A: My mom is not happy at all about it but my dad is positive and supporting though, he thinks that you should do things when you have the chance and that’s kind of my way of seeing it as well.

- Since some month you are reigning SWS Swedish Heavyweight Champion, how does it feel being the Champ in this company?

A: It’s really an honor, the champions before me are great wrestlers and people so I feel privileged. Also the start of SWS kind of re-launched wrestling in Sweden and to carry on that legacy is a great feeling. Also being from the greater Malmö area myself makes it even more fun.

-What can you say about your Coach and how long did it take, that it was clear for you to do the first match?

A: Killer Karlsson demands a lot of you, he will push you to the edge to see if you really want it and has a good eye for details and explaining things. It took about a full year of training but I was thrown in to the mix earlier than I thought. I think it was something like 2-3 weeks before the show when he told me from out of the blue that I was making my debut so I barely had any gear at that point!

-Harley do you remember your first Pro Wrestling match and what was it like to wrestle in front of a live crowd for the first time?

A: I made my debut in a battle royal actually! I remember it well because nobody had said anything to us beforehand, about 3 hours prior to the show Killer Karlsson told me I was to keep an eye out on another guys match and I ended up having to do a run in after the match saving a wrestler so that became the first time the crowd got to see me. I was nervous as hell before the battle royal, but luckily I got over with the fans and the nervousness went away pretty quickly. The feeling of hearing the crowd was great and still is, it’s just something you can’t describe!

-Which wrestlers did impress you so much, that you wanted to step in the ring by yourself? When i think about your name i would say the 8 times NWA World Heavyweight Championship Harley Race.

A: Harley Race is definitely a legend I look up to, such a tough man who really mastered the psychology of the game as he went along but he’s one that I started watching as I got in to the business. When growing up and looking at wrestling purely as a fan I’d have to say Sting had me on the edge of my seat, especially with his “Crow” persona. I also have to mention Samoa Joe who’s influenced me later on, his intensity and technical prowess is remarkable, also we’re about the same size and both two agile big men so I really look up to him as well.

-One of the biggest questions I get on this site is about becoming a pro wrestler. What advice would you give to someone that was thinking about becoming a wrestler?

A: First of all: find a proper school close to you that can start you off with real training. Then most of it is dedication, dedicate yourself to the in-ring training, dedicate yourself to the gym, dedicate yourself to actually WATCH wrestling and take notes! Training and learning wrestling will hurt, it will take time, it will cost you money but someday you catch a break!

-So far in know you wrestle only in Scandinavia ,Which country you would love to visit next and wrestle?

A: Of course I’d love to wrestle in the US somewhere down the line but two countries spring to mind: 1. Germany, a country with a great heritage of wrestling and skillful wrestlers in Europe and loads of talented big guys! 2. UK, well the history of pro wrestling in the UK is just so awesome and the scene is definitely on the rise once again with some amazing wrestlers, it could also give me the chance to meet Grado who is a personal favorite

-When a booker or company will book you where can they contact you?

A: They can send a personal message to me at my facebook page or contact me through SWS at kontakt@wrestlingsyd.se

-Is there anything else you would like to let my readers know?

A: Hey, check out the Swedish wrestling scene by typing in either Wrestlingpalatset or GBG Wrestling when you go to youtube, lots of good stuff to watch there and I hope to see you in the future either in Sweden or somewhere out in Europe!

Thank you very much for your time and all the best for the future!

A: Thank you!
